Pain, blame and how Shiva got his blue neck and what we can learn from Shivas compassionate action. This video is a talk inspired by a question from a Zen Buddhist practitioner that I answered in a chat, and that I posted in my story, which caused some interest here into the topic.
So here I talk about the subject of pain, suffering, feeling hurt, enduring uncomfortable situations and our tendency to blame others - and how all of this is possible to be transformed in the light of wisdom, that grows from correct practice and insight. Because we are actually quite capable to endure discomfort, pain and suffering without braking or - and that happens mostly - transmitting that suffering to others. We blame others for the feeling that we are having, because those feelings seem too painful to bear and witness.
Zen Buddhist practice was always a way to see beyond our limitations and realize how radical acceptance and compassion are not only possible, but are actually inbuilt powers that we already have. Maybe we just didn’t do the right action yet to unlock those features via software update ;-)
